Arthur Earl Holloway, 87, passed peacefully on January 6, 2017. He was born in Akron on April 24, 1929 to the late Arthur F. and A. Pearl (Gilbert) Holloway.  After graduating from Akron West High School, Arthur volunteered for the Army, serving tours in Guam and then Germany. He played minor league baseball in the Red Sox organization and was inducted into the Greater Akron Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989 and the Summit County Softball Hall of Fame in 1997.

Art worked for 27 years as a delivery driver for Easton Cartage, then provided transportation for residents at Manor Care.  Art started the Rubber City Open table tennis tournament in the late 50's that drew nationally ranked players. He coached Little League baseball and umpired both slow and fast-pitch softball. Art especially enjoyed the years he spent teaching tennis to young players at the Green Tennis Club.

Art is survived by his wife, of 63 years, Janet Holloway (Blackford) whom he married on the CBS live reality TV program “Bride and Groom” in New York City.  He is also survived by sons, Brian (Jane) and Craig (Judy) Holloway; grandsons, Luke (Kristan), Jacob, Adam, Cameron and Connor; great-granddaughters Kaelin, Kyah, Keave and Greylyn and sister, Joyce (Bill) Spencer.
