Richard M. Huff
February 10, 1953 ~ January 1, 2017 (age 63) 63 Years OldRichard Huff, 63, of Green passed away at home, in the early morning of January 1, 2017, after a year-long battle with cancer. Richard was an intelligent and extremely hardworking man. After years in the grocery business, from the age of 15, he became an independent owner/operator of the Canal Fulton Giant Eagle. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and many sports. But his greatest joy and love was being involved with his grandsons.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother and father, Eva Marie and John Ridenour; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Walter (Dolores) Schneeberger and sister Ruth Lee Johnson. He will be missed by his wife, of 45 years, Betty Huff; daughters, Shonna (Jess) Hurley and Kristy (Ty) Huff; and his pride and joy, his grandsons, Colton, Joshua, Maddux, Travis, Maximus, and Grady. He will also be missed by his sister Rose Marie (Gary) Baker, brother John (Jean) Ridenour; best friends Jeff (Monika) Walker as well as many other family, friends and associates.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Wells, Dr. Mahesh and the Jeanne Cooper Cancer Center, Dr. McNamara and the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center, as well as the many nurses and doctors of Akron General Palliative and Hospice Care.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 from 2 P.M. until 5 P.M. There will be a memorial service at funeral home immediately following officiated by Pastor David Bittinger.
