Janet L. (Snyder) Mace

Janet Mace, 73, of Portage Lakes, passed away February 19, 2017.  She was born in Youngstown on October 22, 1943 to the late Perry and Bertha Snyder.  Janet received her Bachelor of Education from Youngstown State University, and taught at Manchester Schools for 28 ½ years.  She was a loyal and dedicated customer of Starbucks.

Janet is survived by her husband of 25 years, Bob Mace; daughters, Nancy (Mike) Kranek and Lisa (Rafael) Perez; step-daughters, Connie Takarchek and Sherri Weber; grandchildren, Allison, Michael, Rafael III, Armen, Marcus, Carmel, Ken (Tara), Amanda, Taylor, Jeremy, Brooke, Tristan, Elijah; great-grandchildren, Jedidiah and Erika; brother, Donald (Gloria) Snyder; sisters, Joyce Bobosh and Judy Snyder; and Sammy (the dog), her loyal companion that slept by her side providing many hours of comfort. 

The family would like to give special thanks to Summa Hospital, The Cooper Cancer Center and Summa Hospice for the love and care they provided.               

Memorial service will be held at 7 P.M. on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 with Rev.
