Willie Davis, 94, passed away on January 16, 2023. She was born April 11, 1928, in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late Fraley and Nannie Vicars. Willie retired from B. F. Goodrich in 1983 and was a member of Eastern Star for over 70 years. She enjoyed her family, home, traveling, and spending her winters in Florida.
In addition to her parents, Willie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Davis; son, Charles “Chick” Davis and sister Jeanell Brode. She is survived by her daughter, Faye Nieder; daughter-in-law, Teri Davis; grandchildren, Shelley Nieder, Amy Mellon, Adam (Tonya) Davis; great-grandchildren, Macy, Kaden, and Kolten Mellon, Braxton and Bayden Davis; special friend, CJ Lemp and many nieces and nephews.
Willie would like to be remembered as she was in life; a good wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She wished to leave life quietly and be remembered with love by all the people she met in her life.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:30 to 3:30 P.M. on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319. A private interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Willie’s name to the Haven of Rest, P. O. Box 547, Akron, Ohio 44309-0547, or to the Akron Civic Theatre, 182 S. Main Street, Akron, Ohio 44308.
