Bill Holler, Sr., 83, passed away on February 28, 2022. He was born on January 4, 1939, in Akron to the late Kenneth and Luella Holler. Bill was a 1957 graduate of Kenmore High School, proudly served in the U.S. Army, graduated from Kent State University, and the University of Akron. He retired from Cuyahoga School System as a teacher and guidance counselor. Bill was active his entire life and played basketball and softball for many years, as well as exercised regularly at the Green Y until COVID struck.
Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Kay (Stan) Squire, and brother, Kenneth (Pat) Holler, Jr. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Margo Holler; son, William Holler, Jr.; daughter, Becky (Tom Macfarlin) Holler; sisters, Nancy (Bob) Foky and Linda (Bud) Harding; many nieces, nephews and friends; as well as faithful dog, Sunny.
Bill would like to be remembered as a stand-up guy whose word was his bond.
Military honors will take place at 2 P.M. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319. Family and friends may gather to celebrate Bill’s life at the funeral home from 10 A.M. until the time of military honors. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
