Wayne E. Breitenstine

Wayne Breitenstine, 90, passed away on April 28, 2023.  He was born in Barberton on October 16, 1932, to the late Lehman and Blanche Breitenstine.  Wayne proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.  He was a builder and developer owning his business for more than 60 years.  Wayne was a previous owner of the Track and Racquet Club in Green, Chenoweth Golf Course, and the past president of Portage Lakes Kiwanis Club.

Besides his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Gary; brothers, Richard and Glen and sister, Marcine (Floyd) Miller.  He is survived by his sons, David (Patti), and Mark Breitenstine and Wayne (Marife) Von Breitenstein; daughter, Bonnie (Daniel) Zbaren; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Lavonne (Harold) Coffman; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at NOON on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319.  Family and friends may call on Thursday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at Clinton Cemetery.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
