Wally Aemmer, 71, passed away January 17, 2021 at Summa Hospital. He was born December 6, 1949 in Ravenna to the late Wallace, Sr. and Bertha Aemmer. He was a Lake High School graduate and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Wally was proud of his work with Bowers Paving and later built Aemmer Chip and Seal Paving. He found peace and enjoyment working on his cabin and cutting firewood. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, traveling and sports. Especially The Ohio State Buckeyes; as well as his favorite……The Ohio State Buckeyes Marching Band. Most of all Wally loved spending time with his family and friends creating memories. Wally was a member of the V.F.W., Swiss Society, and the Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club. Wally will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his laughter and his love of shelled peanuts.
Besides his parents, Wally was preceded in death by sister, Virginia Aemmer, brothers-in-law, Rick Thompson and Tony DiMarzio and nephew Bobby Boyce. He is survived by his sons, Derek and Joseph (Jessi) Aemmer; beautiful granddaughters, Joey “Little Bits”, Alexis “Boots” and Ellie; sisters, Elizabeth “Tanny” Thompson, Deborah (David) Boyce and Luann DiMarzio; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
“What a delight to follow Jesus, when from him you never part.
He has promised not to leave you, He will meet your longing heart.”
