V. James "Jim" LeMasters

Jim LeMasters, 77, passed away on June 12, 2023.  He was born in Akron on August 14, 1945, to the late Ray LeMasters and Helen Harper.  Jim proudly served in the U.S. Air Force.  He was employed by McNeil Akron for ten years and retired from Manda’s Bait & Tackle in Portage Lakes.  Jim loved hunting, fishing and enjoyed watching NASCAR races.

Besides his parents and stepfather Richard Harper, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Ray LeMasters, Jr.; sisters, Joan LeMasters and Nancy Henthorn.  He is survived by his loving companion of 40 years, Cheryl Kreiner; children, Annette (Mike) Statts and Jimmy (Penny Toboz) LeMasters; bonus children, Jodi (Mark) House and Brian (Jennifer) Kreiner; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and numerous friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, June 26, 2023, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319.  Family and friends may call on Monday from 10 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
