Trang Tran, 79, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2021. He was born July 26, 1941 in Vietnam. Trang brought his family and children to America as refugees from the Vietnam War. He was an extraordinary father and grandfather who overcame incredible turmoil for his family’s chance of a better life. His children were proud of him as they witnessed first-hand the courage, resilience, endurance and compassion he had that enabled him to achieve this dream for his family. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Xuan Thi Nguyen; son, Zeke; brother, An Ngoc Tran and sisters, My Thi Tran, Chau Thi Tran; Ai Thi Tran. He is survived by his sons, Oai Tu Tran, Vi Thi Tran, Andy Tran; daughters, TraMy Tran, Melanie NgaMy Tran and Nhu Thy Tran and 12 grandchildren.
The family would like to thank his primary care physician Dr. Thomas Breen and the staff of Cleveland Clinic Medical Care at Home who helped in caring for our dad. We also would like to thank Barbara Simpson of Christmas Home Health Care and Christine Ferguson from Direction Home for their help and coordination in the care of Dad.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 P.M. on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 1034 Brown Street, Akron, Ohio 44301. Family and friends may visit from 10 to 11 A.M. on Tuesday at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 where social distancing will be practiced. Per request of the family, please no monetary donations.
