Thomas Seese, Sr. Obituary

Tom Seese, Sr., 74, made the final journey home to be reunited with the love of his life, best friend, and wife of 46 years, Pam on Sunday February 17, 2019.  Tom was born on August 31, 1944 to the late Wilson and Dorothy Seese.  He was a graduate of Manchester High School and Hower Trade School where he was in the machinist apprenticeship program. Tom retired from Goodyear Aerospace after 30 years of service and was the former owner of Suds Your Duds Laundromat/Dry Cleaner.

Tom served on the Coventry Township Board of Trustees (1978-1986), District 48 State Representative (1986-1995), Former Local 856 UAW President, President of CAP Council Twinsburg Chapter, Coach and Vice President of Portage Lakes Active Youth (P.L.A.Y. Pops), delegate for Portage Lakes Community Council, charter member of South Summit Democrats, and was serving once again as a Coventry Township Trustee. Tom remained an active member of The Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club, Eagles, Sons of Herman, Army Navy and VFW up until the time of his passing.

Tom loved life, his family, and serving his community. He greeted each person with a warm handshake and a smile and treated everyone like a friend. He was generous to a fault often putting the needs of others before his own. There was not a subject he didn’t know something about; he enjoyed talking about boating in the Portage Lakes, riding his Harley, working on cars, snowplowing and his favorite subject and pastimes were the ones that included his family and friends. His infectious laughter and storytelling will be greatly missed especially by his family and friends around the bonfire during camping season for years to come.

Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Pam; and siblings Jim, Dory, June and Lois.  He is survived by his children, Sandy (Mark) Kirk, Ron, Tom, Jr. (Stephanie), Brian (Adrianne) and Bill Seese; grandchildren, Jeremy, Caitlin, Tom III, Gia, Austin, Macenzie, Sarah, Brayden, Scottie, Gavin and Wilson; siblings, Joyce Woodling, Faye (Dave) May, Carol Bulgrin, Sue (John) Swaino; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A heartfelt and special thank you to Dr. Awender, Dr. Rhemus and the Staff at Akron General Hospital for all you have done for Tom and our family.

Memorial service will be held at 4 P.M. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., Akron, Ohio 44319 (SR 619) with Rev.
