Tari Tracy, 59, passed away peacefully at home on December 2, 2021 after a 2.5-year battle with colon cancer. She was born July 21, 1962 in Akron to Bob and Judy Sams. Tari was a 1980 graduate of Coventry High School and lived her entire life in the Portage Lakes Area.
Tari dearly valued family first and was fortunate to always have family close by. She enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean, Las Vegas, and especially the beaches of the Carolinas. Tari absolutely enjoyed all sports dating back to her high school years, where she excelled in so many ways. She continued to Akron University for school and all of this helped Tari throughout her accomplished career spent primarily in Human Resources including positions at a Director or Executive level. She felt incredibly privileged to have both of her parents actively involved in her life at her age. Her husband was her life history and her Son was her “Sun”. That was especially evident at “hug” time 1234. Tari did so much for others…you wanted her as a friend. She had a sparkle and was truly magnetic.
The daily brutality of cancer cannot be handled alone. The incredible fear, intense pain, mental anguish, and torture require help from so many. If you helped Tari and her family deal with this brutality in any way, Tari holds you dear to her heart. We can’t imagine this journey without you. Thank you and God bless you.
Besides her parents, Tari is survived by her high school sweetheart and devoted husband of 34 years, Dave; loving and adoring son, Justin; brother, Danny (Linda) Sams; sisters, Tami (Tony) Pallotta and Debbie (John) Chapman; stepparents-in-law, George Arway and Nancy Tracy; brother-in-law, Steve (Jill) Tracy; sisters-in-law, Terri Walker and Kelli (Tony) Williams; as well as nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Tari was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Robert Tracy and mother-in-law, Barbara Arway.
