Tammy L. (German) Luhring

Tammy Luhring, 55, passed away on April 22, 2023, after battling cancer for nearly 3 years.  She was born in Akron on May 2, 1967, to Nancy and the late Philip German, Sr.  She was a 1985 graduate of Stow High School and Kent State University in 1992 with a degree in Child and Family Development. She began her career at Summit County Children’s Services where she worked for 31 years and was a true advocate for the families she served.

In her free time, she enjoyed traveling - especially to Las Vegas and Siesta Key. When at home you could find Tammy surrounded by her friends and family at their pool. She supported her children in their many endeavors and was involved in the Northwest volleyball booster club, bantam basketball board, and served as the girl scout cookie leader.

Tammy demonstrated a strong work ethic and drive as she served her families and her loved ones. She encouraged her children to stand up for what they believe is right. Tammy has positively impacted her family, friends, and coworkers.

Along with her dad, Tammy was preceded in death by her uncle, Michael Ross.  She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Keith Luhring; daughter, Leah Luhring; son, Kyle (Jordan Marecek) Luhring; mother, Nancy German; brother, Phillip (Jodi) German, Jr.; aunt, Judy Ross; as well as many other loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E.
