Suzanne R. Martin

Sue Martin, 75, passed away January 10, 2021 at her home in Uniontown, Ohio after a long battle with cancer.  She was born March 10, 1945 in Akron to the late Harold and Martha Davis.  Sue graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1963 and worked for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 16 years before retiring. Diagnosed with cancer in 1992, she fought head to head with it and stayed with us for 29 years. Her will to take care of her family, see her grandchildren grow up and her love of bulldogs played a big part in her longevity. Sue always said there was no medicine as good as bringing a newborn bulldog into the world. She was active in the bulldog community breeding and showing dogs achieving two champions and one grand champion, something that brought her great joy.

Sue is survived by her loving husband, Chuck; children, John (Shanna Bryant) Martin and Ann (Gary Marlin) Martin; stepchildren, Charles Jr. (Lauri) Martin, Laura (Ed) Pearce and Nicole (Dow) Wolfe; grandchildren, Amber, Davy, Cody, Ellie, Noelle, Madison, Eddie, Abbie, Sydnie, Chas, Luke, Nathan and Andrew; sisters, Carol Ann (Henry) Sherill and Christine Bixler; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Thank you to Dr. John Petrus and his wonderful staff who kept Sue here with us for so long.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319.  Family and friends may call on Thursday from 12:30 until the time of the service at the funeral home where social distancing and health protocol (i.e. wearing of face covering, staying 6 feet apart, no handshakes or hugs) will be followed.  Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.  If you are sick or do not wish to attend, we understand, and all love and prayers will be accepted by visiting our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
