Shirley Davis, 89, passed away May 26, 2021. She was born September 4, 1931 in Greensburg to the late Charles and Dessie Johnson. While raising 5 children, Shirley always worked full time outside of the home, mainly in managerial roles. At the age of 65 she retired from Goodyear Aerospace. Shirley did not stay retired for long as she began working at what she called “the best job I ever had” as a medical secretary for Internal Medicine of Akron, Inc. At the age of 80, her boss, AKA…daughter Teresa, forced her into retirement.
Shirley was the glue of the family, always keeping in touch with relatives and extended family. A special thanks to friends Doug and Dee Saunders and family for their friendship for over 60 years.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ted Shaub and the staff of Western Reserve Cardiology for the excellent care given to our mom.
Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert; brothers, Clifford and Norman Johnson and sister, Maxine Cooper. She is survived by her sons, Michael, Gary, Dennis (Heidi) and Jeffrey (Christine) Davis; daughter, Teresa (Curt) Lautzenhiser, daughter-in-law, Lisa; grandchildren, Justen Davis, Ashton Davis, Samantha Stark, Katie Dye, Crystal Davis, Amy Osborne Davis, Dylan Davis, Susie Green, Teresa Bowden, Joray Leach, Derek Lautzenhiser, Drew Lautzenhiser, Cory Milstead, Crystal Terrell, Zachary Davis, Erin Davis, Angela, Elijah, and Solomon; great grandchildren, Maeve Davis, Jordan Hymes, Jemma Hymes, Jaci Hymes, Grace Tanner, Madelyn Dye, Brandon Osborne, Jess (JB) Combs, Danni Lynn Combs, Dylan Davis, Jacob Green, Mattie Green, Katlynn Hensley, Nethanial Robinson, Ella Bowden, Ty Kaeka, Kayla Kaeka, Kennedy Goodrich, Lucas Lautzenhiser, Peyton Lautzenhiser, Emmabelle Milstead, Olivia Milstead, Layla Milstead, Jason Terrell Jr, Jordan Terrell, Chloe Terrell, Bode Davis, and Carleone; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
