Rose Hunter, 78, passed away November 20, 2021. She was born November 26, 1942 in Youngstown to the late Roger and Madelyn Filban.
Rose graduated from nursing in Cleveland in 1963. She attended the nurse anesthesia program at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown and became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in 1968. She worked in the anesthesia department at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Akron General Hospital and finally retiring in 1999 from Akron City Hospital.
Rose also received her pilot’s license and enjoyed flying her single engine plane. She also enjoyed boating, water skiing, snowmobiling and snow skiing. Most of all she loved spending time with her friends out on the Portage Lakes.
Besides her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Filban; sister-in-law, Patricia Filban and nephew Kenneth Filban. She is survived by nieces, Rochelle (Randy) Cole and Nadyne (Jason) Kipp; great nieces, Ashley, Cearah and Ava; great nephew, William; as well as many friends and her furbaby, Stormy.
