Ronald L. Cochrane

Ron Cochrane, 73, passed away on May 5, 2022.  He was born January 3, 1949, in Akron to James and Ruby (McLaughlin) Cochrane.  Ron attended Manchester High School, and later served in the United States Army in Vietnam, Panama, and various locations stateside.  He returned to Akron following his military service to work at Firestone Tire and Rubber.  He worked as a machinist and warehouse manager throughout his career and retired from Hi Way Distributing in 2008.  A lifelong resident of Portage Lakes, he enjoyed the recreation and wildlife of the region. 

Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne.  He is survived by his son Daryl Cochrane, as well as longtime companion Jimmie Marie Bennett; sisters,  Christine (Tom) Durliat, Kathy (Charles) Hafner, Kelly (Christopher) Gosnell; brother, Dale; sister-in-law, Linda; as well as a niece, nephews, and Jimmie's children and grandchildren.

Per Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Ron’s name to the Ohio Parkinson Foundation Northeast Region, P.O.
