Bob Stewart, 86, passed away on November 6, 2022. He was born November 14, 1935, in Columbus to the late Robert L. and Freeda Stewart. He was a 1954 graduate of Manchester High School. After graduation, he spent 5 years in the U.S. Army Reserves while also serving his apprenticeship as an electrician in IBEW Local 306. He spent 39 years working in the union and retired in 1998. He was co-owner of Strabel & Stewart Electric for 10 years prior to his retirement.
Bob was a devoted and loving husband to his soulmate, Marsha. He often said the best day of his life was the day he proposed to her. As a father and grandfather, he was a role model and deeply loved. One of his happiest moments was when his first granddaughter was born. He was blessed with three more grandchildren that he adored and loved. He cherished the time that he spent with his grandkids at home and could always be found at their sporting events.
Bob had a passion for racing, restoring cars, and could basically fix anything that was broken. He spent 3 years completely restoring one of his 1957 T-Birds and was currently in the process of restoring one of his 1963½ Galaxies. He loved to travel, whether it was one of the annual family vacations with Marsha and the boys, Las Vegas with Marsha and close friends, or spending the winter in Florida since his retirement.
Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon (Don) Harbaugh. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marsha; sons, Rob (Jody Crow) and Jeff “Skip” (Becky) Stewart; grandchildren, Haley, Mackenzie, Isaiah, and Araya; as well as many other family and friends.
