Ralph Jackson passed away on May 25, 2022, after 87 years of a very full life. He was born February 12, 1935, to the late Joseph and Ruth Jackson and grew up in Akron. Ralph was a graduate of Coventry High School and then went on to graduate first in his Pharmacy class at Ohio Northern University.
On March 16, 1961, Ralph married the love of his life, Ruth Lemon. Ruth and Ralph remained inseparable over the next 61 years. Together they raised three children in Springfield Township.
Ralph was a true original. He was a pharmacist by profession, but his passion was restoring antique cars. He was plain spoken, determined, mischievous, dependable, generous, and thoughtful.
Ralph said he planned on “getting his money’s worth out of life” and he surely did. He and Ruth enjoyed traveling and made memories all across the country. Despite his adventurous spirit, Ralph was happiest at home with those he loved. He was a firm believer that “family was everything.”
In addition to being a loving husband and father, Ralph was an adored grandfather. He was front row for countless sporting events, plays, concerts, and graduations. His grandchildren will treasure memories of backyard baseball games, day trips, and all of the fun that happened at Grandma and Grandpa's.
Besides his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn, and brother, Robert. His memory will live on in his wife, Ruth; sons, David (Stacey) and Paul (Kim) Jackson; grandchildren, Elisabeth, Erin, Anna, Matthew, Alaina, and Zachary; as well as his many friends.
