Ralph Carris

Ralph Carris, 95, passed away on September 21, 2023. He was born on September 18, 1928, in Kenmore, Ohio to the late Albert and Maggie Carris.  Ralph was a Navy veteran, started the Coventry PeeWee Football program, worked the railroad for over 40 years, as well as driving a bus for the Coventry Schools system.  He was a longtime organizer of Seniors Euchre and betting the ponies was a fun pastime for many years.

Along with his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his loving wife of 74 ½ years, Darlene.  He is survived by his children, Kathy (Rick) Struckel, Craig (Jackie) Carris, and Kevin (Ellie) Carris; grandchildren, Scott (Lynnsay) Struckel, Midge (Joe) Asher, Cameron (Katy) Carris, Chase (Lauren) Carris, Madi (Mark) Bint, and Lexi (Kyle) Scelza; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Samuel, Sadie, Estelle, Hope, Aris, Walter, Olivia, Ruthie, Kollyns, Isabelle, Cruz, and Chloe.

A Funeral service will be held at NOON on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319.  Family and friends may call on Monday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service.  A private family interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ralph’s name to the Haven of Rest Ministries, P.O.
