Phyllis Boike Obituary

Phyllis Boike, 89, the zesty, classy, defiant, bossy, and loving matriarch of the Boike family, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, February 24, 2023, following a five-year tussle with ovarian cancer. Her husband and partner for over 70 years, Richard Boike, was at her side when she passed. Together they raised three sons, Jeff (Mary), Brad (Ellen) and Shawn (Kimberly).

A lifelong resident of Akron, “Nonnie” is survived by her husband, Richard; three sons; grandchildren, Justin (Jessica), Zachary (Erica), Connor (Kathleen), Mitchell (Erika) and Alexandra; great-grandchildren, Ella and Jack; sister, Juanita. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Crosley and Philip Schaile, and sister, Nadine.
