Paul M. Varhola

Paul Varhola, 61, passed away February 10, 2020.  He was born May 16, 1958 in Akron to the late Emil and Mary Anna Varhola.  Paul retired in 2017 from ABF Freight as a City Driver.  During his career with ABF, he received numerous honors for his excellent driving record.  Among those were, the Bronze Award, the 15 Year Safety Performance Award, the 20 Year Injury Free Award and the 27 Year Accident Free Award.  Paul was particularly proud that he had driven more than one million city miles without an accident.   

Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary J. Varhola.  He is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends

A graveside inurnment of Paul and his wife Mary will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 2580 Romig Road, Akron, Ohio 44320.  Please arrive at the cemetery 15 minutes prior to the service.  Paul proudly achieved the highest honor of Eagle Scout in 1976 while with Troop 203.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Paul’s name to The Great Trail Council Troop 203, 4500 Hudson Drive, Stow, Ohio 44224.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
