Patricia K. "Pat" (Nester) Mullinax

Pat Mullinax, 79, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born December 2, 1942, in Akron to the late Thurl, Sr. and Eva Nester. 

Pat was a loving and giving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother who knew no greater joy than spending time with her family. Pat loved the many pets that came under her care during her lifetime, rescuing many injured and stray animals.  She faithfully fed the birds, enjoyed gardening, sewing, and reading, and was famous among many for her chocolate and peanut butter fudge.

Pat was a blessing and light to all who had the privilege of being in her life. Life was more special because she was in it.

Along with her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her brother, Thurl Nester, Jr “Sonny” and beloved grandson, Kyle Palermo.  She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Mullinax; daughters, Lori (Bill) Palermo-Reynolds, Kimberly (Emad) Alostaz, and Wendy (Mark) Conn; grandchildren, Mandy (Travis) Johnson, Christopher (Taylor) Mullinax, Cari (Ryan) Burt, Matthew (Tiffany), Steven, Joseph, and Kelly Alostaz, Julie and Nathan Palermo; great-grandchildren, Zavier, Ethan, Parker, Sammy, and Benjamin; as well as sisters, Joanne Brock and Cheryl Woutat.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Country View of Sunbury and Ohio Health Hospice for the care and compassion they gave to Pat and her family. 

Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Jake Tovissi officiating.  Family and friends may call on Thursday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
