Pat Lutz, 89, went home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2021. She was born June 25, 1932 in Akron to the late William and Cecelia Miller.
After meeting at a dance and falling in love, Pat married Bill Lutz in 1956 and they enjoyed a beautiful union of 56 years. Together they built what would be her lifelong focus and passion, her family. Keeping five kids organized, planning camping trips, and vacations to Myrtle Beach near her beloved calming ocean, made her a busy mother. She had a special knack for her household “chore charts” which taught her children the value of work, followed by daily summer swimming and picnicking at the lake. She loved music and Hollywood musicals, going to great lengths to load up her family to see The Sound of Music multiple times.
Pat was devoted to her Catholic faith and her Parish of Nativity of Our Lord in Uniontown. She found peaceful moments with her Bible Study group and volunteered where she could during masses.
Her family grew to include 4 sons-in-law and a daughter-in-law who were as special to her as her own. Babies were her greatest joy in life, and she was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She delighted in hosting family holidays and special events where there was always a seat for any relative or friend at her table.
In her later life, Pat became a member of the senior living communities at Copley Place and The Village of St. Edward in Wadsworth. She truly treasured the closeness and companionship of dear friends and staff who helped carry her happily through these years. Her family is grateful to these communities for the joy they added to her life.
Besides her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, William; brothers, Vince, Joe, Ken and Ray Miller; sisters, Mary Kozlowski and Rita Knepper. She is survived by her son, Bill (Lisa) Lutz; daughters, Paula (Mark) Bezbatchenko, Patty (Gordon) Bennett, Pam (Terry) Crawford and Michelle (Tom) Baker; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lucille Styles; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
