Patricia A. (Ellis) Day

Pat Day, 80, passed away on April 28, 2022. She was born July 1, 1941, in Akron to the late Elmer and Wanda (Conn) Ellis. Pat was a graduate of South High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Donald Day.  Pat was a faithful wife of 63 years, a full-time mom, and owner of an A&W Root Beer Stand.  She was the staple of her family who taught you who the Lord was and how to feel immeasurable amounts of love and joy. Pat always had an open door for all who needed her.  If she were cooking, she would make enough for an army. You would never leave her house feeling hungry - for love, affection, sweet treats, and even some wisdom from time to time. She brought her family together in any way she could. Pat was the epitome of a warm hug and unconditional love.

Besides her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her sisters, Yvonne and Mart; and great-granddaughter, Olivia. She is survived by her husband, Donald; daughters, Jackie (Craig) Carris, Kim Cantwell, and Barb Reynolds (Rory Gangle);  grandchildren, Derrick (Tiffani) Athey, Midge (Joe) Asher, Chase (Lauren) Carris, Madison (Mark) Bint, Jordan Reynolds, Jillian (Sam) Campbell, and Jade Reynolds; great-grandchildren; Joseph, Aris, Estelle, Walter, Easton, Cruz, and Trenton.

A memorial service will be held at 6 P.M. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319.  Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
