Monna Mae (Walker) Hartong

Monna Hartong, 77, passed away peacefully February 15, 2019.  She was born September 9, 1941 in North Canton to the late Wilbur Walker and Ethel (James) Eagleson but lived in Green for most of her life.  Monna worked for Green Local Schools for over 20 years, she served her church and anyone in need.  Monna was blessed with a large family and was a devoted and loving wife and mother.  She cherished time spent with her family, which was of upmost importance to her. She set a loving example for us all.     

Along with her parents, Monna was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Wilbur Hartong, Jr and sister Darlene.  She is survived by her sons, Wilbur, III (Cindy), Randy (Rebecca) and Bryan (Cindy); grandchildren, Joshua (Jessica), Matthew (Allison), Mikaela (Travis) McLaughlin, Cameryn, Maxwell and Chandler; great grandchildren, Carter, Adalynn and Cooper; step grandchildren, Daisy (Lee) Zimmer, Caroline and Henry Woodside; sisters, Donna and Joyce and brother, Lee. 

Funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319.  Family and friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at Greensburg Cemetery.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
