Mike Dunn Obituary

Mike Dunn, 72, passed away November 1, 2021.  He was born May 9, 1949 in Akron to the late Joseph and Arliene Dunn.  Mike graduated from Manchester High School in 1968.  He was an excellent high school basketball player.

After high school his love for all sports continued, especially for his hometown teams…the Manchester Panthers, A’s, Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavs.  He coached Manchester youth baseball for many years and loved reminiscing over the stories.  He enjoyed all the memories made while coaching and loved running into past players, as adults, and laughing about those memories from many years back.

Mike is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cindy; sons, Tim (Tami), Mark and Cody Dunn; grandchildren, Savannah, Hayden and Mykayla; brother, Kevin (Theresa) Dunn; as well as many nieces, nephews and countless friends.  Besides his parents, He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jeffery and Jon “Chip” Dunn and sister, Debbie Lee.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Mike’s life will be held from 2 to 5 P.M. on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club, 4551 Dusty’s Road, Akron, Ohio 44319.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
