Maurice "Moe" Pudoka Obituary

Maurice Pudoka, 88, passed away on March 3, 2022.  He was born November 11, 1933, in Mansfield Ohio to the late John and Emma Pudoka.  Maurice was raised and worked in the Akron area his entire life. Moe to his friends, he was a devoted family man and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Maurice was an avid reader, constantly learning and seeking adventure throughout his life. An avid fisherman and water skier in his younger years, he developed a passion for running and cycling in later years when most people would be content to sit back and relax, even climbing the highest points east of the Mississippi on a bicycle at the “young” age of 70. Maurice continued to inspire and motivate his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren throughout his life.

Forever loving, Moe was always taking care of his family and instilled a strong work ethic into everyone he met. The love of his life, his “honey” his “beautiful bride” has been beside him for over 70 years and was always the first thing he thought of when he woke and the last thing he thought of when he laid down to rest. He was the testament to actions speak louder than words because he demonstrated the love of Christ every day and in every way.

Besides his parents, Maurice was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Keller; brother, David Pudoka; sisters, Marcella (Paul) Kozy and Elizabeth (Hank) Bellman.  He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Faye; sons, Rick (Lisa) and Michael (Mia) Pudoka; grandchildren, Lisa (Brian) Boucher, Kimberly (Trevor) Marshall, Kathryn (Fiance’ Jacob), Emma and Maura; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Gabriel, Dominic, Charlotte and Henry; son-in-law, David Keller; sister-in-law, Rose Pudoka; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The Pudoka family would like to especially thank Heather and the team at Homestead Hospice for their compassionate and loving care during Moe’s illness.
