Mary Estes, 88, passed away on February 21, 2022. She was born October 8, 1933, in Akron to the late Peter and Betty Mihaly. Mary was a 1951 graduate of Springfield high school where she sang in a girl’s trio and met the love of her life, Carl. They eloped (While her sister Helen covered for her) and spent the next 60 years happily married until Carl’s passing. Mary and Carl built a home and raised a family in Green Ohio
Mary was a faithful Christian who always led her family by example following the Lord Jesus. She is now rejoicing in Heaven with loved ones and friends praising God for eternity. Her hope would be for all to have the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as their savior. Mary was a member of Springfield Baptist Church where she served in the choir. One of her gifts was singing for the Lord. Mary had a beautiful voice and was often requested for solo services. Mary was a very talented artist as well.
Mary was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She always had a positive attitude and a loving heart for everyone around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; son, Doug; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her sons, Jim (Lilibeth), Dave (Sheree) and Bob (Chris) Estes; daughters, Merry Miller and Dianne (Don) Bulgrin; grandchildren; Michelle (Chad) Lambert, Doug Jr., Dan (Kim), and Dennis (Stacey) Estes, Kristy Mollohan, Michael, Sophia, and Olivia Estes, Dana (Steve) Schaal, David (Angela) Estes, Mindy (Justin) Cromer, Shane and Cody Estes, Deanna (Garrett) Wright, David Miller, Donald, Stephanie, Matt, and Andrew Bulgrin; great-grandchildren, Eric, Emily, Elly, Addy, Hannah, Eli, Evie, June, Dennis Jr, Aaron, Kayla, Shana, Dylan, Addison, Olivia, Luke, Brenna, Xavier, Ryan, Zachary, Levi, Blake, Ray, Riley, Reese; great great grandson; Carter James; sister, Vera Horne; daughter-in-law, Vicki Estes Kellogg; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at East Liberty Cemetery.
