Martha McIntyre Obituary

Martha McIntyre, 72, passed away March 1, 2021.  She was born August 26, 1948 in Akron to the late Bud Joseph and Kathryn Antrobius.  Martha attended Coventry High School (Class of 1966). After high school she studied at Gerber Beauty School and was awarded her diploma of completion.

 

In 1982, Martha married her soulmate, Ed and spent the next 38 years together growing a wonderful family and beautiful life. Martha loved gardening, being outside, making crafts, music and dancing.  Most of all she enjoyed being surrounded by the people that she loved. Martha is a strong survivor of many battles such as, heart disease, colon cancer, and leukemia. Most recently she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer that she would later succumb to. 

 

Besides her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel and John Mark Antrobius.  She is survived by her loving husband, Eddie McIntyre; sons, Bryan Scott Akins and Cody Daniel McIntyre; daughters, Lisa Maria Newman and Autumn (Allan) Arkenburgh; grandchildren, Emily, Faith and Joshua Newman, Bryan Akins and Logan Arkenburgh; 1 great grandchild; brother, Robert (Sandy) Antrobius; sister, Mary Lynn Antrobius-Dario; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Martha was such a kind and selfless person who touched the hearts of many friends and family. She will be missed each and every day by those who had the honor of knowing her.  Rest in paradise our sweet angel.

 

Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, March 8, 2021 at the Little Flower Catholic Parish, 2040 Diamond Street NE, Canton, Ohio 44721 with The Very Rev. Canon Christopher Henyk officiating.  Family and friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 3 P.M. at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 where social distancing and health protocol (i.e. wearing of face covering, staying 6 feet apart, no handshakes or hugs) will be followed.  Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made in Martha’s name to the American Cancer Society, 3500 Embassy Parkway, Suite 150, Akron, Ohio 44333.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
