Lynda J. Sims

Lynda Sims, 62, of Green, passed away on June 29, 2021.  She was born April 4, 1959 in Ventura, California to Carol and the late Leon Lowe.

Lynda was a strong, beautiful, dedicated woman who consistently put the needs of her loved ones ahead of her own. Throughout her life, she worked a number of jobs, but she is best remembered as a legendary wife and mother. She enjoyed traveling, cooking delicious food, and crafting gifts that brought warmth to others. Her famous blankets and quilts still decorate many homes and serve as a reminder of her overwhelming capacity to love.

Beside her mother, Lynda is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Greg; son, Justin (Jessica) Sims; daughter, Melissa Sims; brothers, Jimmy and Donald; sisters, Dianne and Jennifer; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 7 P.M. on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319. Family and friends may call from 4-7 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment will take place at 2:15 P.M. on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, 7920 Frank Avenue NW, North Canton, Ohio 44720.
