Lillian Fusselman passed away on December 18, 2020 and entered through the gates of Heaven to greet her Lord and Savior and reunite with Ed, the love of her life.
Lillian was born and raised in Akron and graduated from Springfield High School in 1953. The youngest of five she was fondly nicknamed “Babe” which she embraced throughout her life. After high school she worked as a clerk for Polsky’s department store and Bell Telephone. She also worked at Clarkin’s department store during the 70’s.
Babe married Ed at the age of 20 but was in love with him many years before. Ed was a good friend to her brothers, and they all grew up together. Her dream to someday marry him became a reality in June of 1955 at Cottage Grove E. C. Church. They quickly started a family and had six children by the end of 1963. Babe was a humorous, resourceful and caring mother and she and Ed raised their family in a strong Christian home. Sunday School and Church played an important part in the family’s daily lives and all six remain faithful to God and His word.
Raising six children left no time for spare time and Lillian dedicated herself to her children and keeping the house a home. With two sons and four daughters and always a dog or two the home was loud and filled with love and laughter. As each of the kids married and moved out, she finally made some time for herself by joining TOPS in Hartville and established many great friendships.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Ed; parents, Robert and Rhoda Black; siblings, Gertrude, James, John and Roderick. She is survived by her six children, Diane (Bob) Epling, Debby Wade, Doris (Dave) Duncan, David (Ann) Fusselman, Donald (Diane) Fusselman and Darla Wheeler; grandchildren, Beth (Jim) Kosmos, Melissa Epling, Jennie (Roger) Chen, Sarah Roberts, Leann (Eddie) Hsu, Daren (Jill) Duncan, Dayna Choi, Debra Duncan(Kayla Quiros), Courtney (Andrew) Wilson, Justin Fusselman, Weston (Alexa) Fusselman, Amber (Andrew) Carr, Morgan Fusselman, Drew Wheeler, Lauren Wheeler, Layne Wheeler and Livia Wheeler and 16 great grandchildren.
Due to the high risk of COVID a private family service will be held. A celebration of a life well lived will be held at a later date. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
