Kenneth L. "Kenny" Pownell

Kenny Pownell, 67, passed away on August 18, 2023.  He was born on April 23, 1956, in Fairmont West Virginia to Elizabeth and the late Darl Pownell.

Kenny attended Faith Family Church in North Canton, Ohio. He was a 1974 graduate of Akron Garfield High School. Kenny was a contracted home remodeler for most of his working career. He retired early to care for his wife whom he loved dearly.

Kenny loved sports and the outdoors. He and Pam went camping many times to Salt Fork State Park. He was a hunter but, mostly favored bass fishing at various lakes in Ohio. Kenny volunteered his time at the YMCA coaching children’s sports. He was always known as the funny one in the family, at a young age often playing fun pranks on his siblings. Kenny had an artistic eye and was good at painting and sketching.

Besides his father, Kenny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pamela.  He is survived by his mother Elizabeth; his brothers, John (Mary), Gary (Patti), and Steve (Judi) Pownell; sisters, Darlene (Joe) Urbania and Tina (Matthew) Earlenbaugh; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
