Judi Heffner, 70, joined her Lord and Savior in heaven December 19, 2021, after a long and heroic battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born September 28, 1951 in Akron to the late Raymond, Sr. and Lillian (Hannig) Czerwinski. Judi was a 1969 graduate of Garfield High School. She earned her degree in Certified Medical Assisting at The University of Akron and went on to pursue a career in healthcare, most recently with her supportive colleagues at Allied Dermatology.
Judi felt a passion for helping people, was quick to laugh and even quicker to make her loved ones laugh. She never ceased to find a way to show her love for all of those for whom she cared and went out of her way to make their special days even more special with her thoughtful gestures. Judi loved visiting the wineries in Geneva with her husband, and her annual trips to Disney World with her friends. She was a devoted wife, generous mother, and doting “Busha” to her grandson. She loved her family, God, and Mickey Mouse.
Loved by her family, God and the Walt Disney Corporation due to her copious amounts of love for a friendly rodent, Judi was truly one of a kind and a true Polack. Whether it was paying for the food and leaving without it, putting 2 licenses plates in one holder and wondering where the other plate was, or having one of the most epic wipe outs as she played kick the can on her 44th birthday (“Crash 44”) she brought immeasurable laughs to all around her. She joined in heartily and never batted an eye, always understanding life is best lived with joy and laughter.
Judi is survived by her loving husband, Don Heffner; sons, Paul and Marc (Rebecca) Michaels; grandson, Tristan; brothers, Raymond, Jr (Judy) and Edwin (Diane) Czerwinski; sister Patricia (Frank) White; step-daughters, Lauren (Shermaine) Green-Hull; Dana Heffner and Stephanie (David) Mihelic; step-grandchildren, Austin, Caden and Xavier; step-great grandson, Easton; as well as nephews and countless friends.
While she is gone much too soon, she lived a full life and managed to leave an indelible impression on all that met her. While our world certainly shines a little less bright without her smile to light it, we take comfort in knowing that she is at peace with her Lord, and that she will live on in the hearts and memories of all those whose life she touched.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Summa Hospice for their love, care and attention to Judi.
