James R. Morgan

Jim Morgan, 85, passed away August 19, 2021.  He was born February 15, 1936 in Akron to the late Edgar and Marion Morgan.  Jim was a 1954 graduate of Copley High School and worked at Goodyear Aerospace, later retiring from Aircraft Braking Systems with 41 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in the outdoors. Jim enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns but most of all, Jim loved spending time with his family and friends.  Jim, Dad, or “Grampa” will be dearly missed by all his loved ones.

Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Don Morgan and sister, Barb Long.  He is survived by his daughters, Linda Morgan and Connie (Glenn) Edwards; grandchildren, Brent Haren, Dallas Edwards and Alyssa (Vince) Del Medico; as well as many other family members and friends.

The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice and all his caregivers for their kindness and support.

Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Rev. Jim Gindlesberger officiating.  Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park.  Memorial contributions can be made in Jim’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, 70 W.
