James W. Leidal

Jim Leidal, 67, of Cuyahoga Falls passed away March 22, 2020 after a short battle with cancer.  He was born January 24, 1953 in Akron to the late William and Shirley Leidal.  Jim was a 1971 graduate of Firestone High School, attended the University of Akron and was the owner of Leidal Construction.  He loved bowling, skiing, golfing, swimming and travel, especially to Las Vegas and the beach.

Jim was the definition of selfless.  He spent many years caring for his mother Shirley.  He never hesitated to help a friend or family member before worrying about himself.  He was easy going and carefree, while still being extremely reliable.  The only thing Jim did not like was wearing socks! Jim will be remembered as an amazing husband, brother, son, uncle, friend, travel buddy and the best dad in the world.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Liz; daughter, Lauren (Neil) Cozart; sister, Linda (Karl) Getzinger; nephews, Eric, Bill, Joel and Keith; nieces, Mira, Lynette and Lea; brother-in-law, David (Doreen) and mother-in-law, Joanne; as well as many other loving family and friends.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Liz’s sister Laura for all the love, care and support.
