Jack Droder, 75, passed away unexpectedly April 4, 2021. He was born December 15, 1945 in Akron to the late Gene Droder and Janae Conn.
Jack was a graduate of Akron’s East High School, a former member of the Ohio National Guard, and graduate of The University of Akron. Professionally, Jack worked in hydraulic and pneumatic sales. He retired from Robeck Fluid Power Company in 2019. Those who knew Jack best are well aware of his exemplary organizational skills which were evident on any given day while Jack was working in his home office.
A man with many interests through the years, Jack was passionate about golfing, snowmobiling, boating, NASCAR, and traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach. Riding his Harley was a beloved pastime and dressing the part was important. There was not an item of Harley apparel he did not own.
Jack was a longtime resident of Portage Lakes who lived lake life to the fullest. He was often seen captaining his pontoon boat with friends and family on board. A lifetime member of Turkeyfoot Sportsman’s Club, Jack actively participated in club activities. He enjoyed meeting new people and cultivating good friendships; but there was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with family.
Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother Gene “Chip” Droder. He is survived by his loving wife, Pam; son, Justin (Christine) Droder; daughter, Dawn (Dennis) King; step-daughters, April Billings and Amber (Dominic Fanizzi) Bechter; grandchildren, Katie, Janae, Jaron, Evan, Shyan, Shayla and Aubrey; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, George “Corky” (Debbie) Droder and Tom (Ann) Saccone; sisters, Deborah, Mary Droder and Darci (Mike) Rauen.
