Irene D. (Kitchen) Morgan

Irene Morgan, 97, passed away peacefully April 23, 2021.  She was born May 11, 1923 in Akron to the late Arch and Hazel Kitchen.  Irene lived her entire life in the Akron area and retired from Akron General Medical Center with over 30 years of service.  She was a member of Firestone Park Christian Church for over 60 years where she was in the choir, a Sunday School Teacher, Deaconess and prayer warrior.               

Besides her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband Robert; brother, Carl and sister, Clara.  She is survived by daughters, Gail Wallner, Robin (Robert) Hawkins and Carla (Larry) Dasho; grandchildren, Daniel, Robin, Bradley, Michelle, Holly, Bob and Chris; sister, Patricia Price; as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a thank you to her many caretakers, Linda and Reva, the staff at Pleasant Point Assisted Living and Crossroads Hospice. 

Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Rich Ferris officiating.  Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 12 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home where social distancing and health protocol (i.e. wearing of face covering, staying 6 feet apart, no handshakes or hugs) will be followed.  Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Irene’s name to Firestone Park Christian Church, 40 E.
