Hilda Kissner, 80, passed away on August 9, 2023. She was born in Germany on September 5, 1942, to the late Adolf, Sr. and Amalia Kissner. In 1957, along with her family, Hilda immigrated to the United States and settled in Akron where she graduated from St. Mary’s High School. Hilda was a waitress for Stouffer’s and Iacomini’s as well as many other Akron area restaurants.
Hilda loved to play Bingo, was a collector of Elvis memorabilia, and had a special love for her dog Trixie. She had a wonderful sense of humor and will always be remembered for her Hilda-isms.
Besides her parents, Hilda was preceded in death by her brothers, Adolf, Jr. and Konstantin Kissner. She is survived by her brother, John (Marianne) Kissner; nieces, Jackie (Bob) Berger, Carmen (John) Ptacek, and Angela Kissner; nephews, Eddie (Rhonda), Ken (Beth), and Kerry (Michelle) Kissner; as well as great nieces and nephews, Mark (Melissa) and Michael (Cole) Trew, Ryan Schmitt, Elisabeth, Aiden, Caroline Ptacek, Megan Trillet, William, Katherine, Alex, Amelia Kissner, Carter, and Owen Trew

In following along with Hilda’s wishes, cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Holy Cross Cemetery, 100 E. Waterloo, Akron, Ohio 44319. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Hilda’s name to St. Luke Foundation, 220 Applegrove Street NE, North Canton, Ohio 44720, or to Blessed Trinity, 300 E.
