Gregory A. Stewart

Greg Stewart, 67, of Barberton passed away August 28, 2021.  He was born July 13, 1954 in Akron to the late Harry and Norma Jean Stewart.  

Greg accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior early in life and served him his whole life. He was generous, humorous, loving, compassionate, joyful, wise, a man of God and a man of God’s word. He loved and was devoted to his wife Angela.

Greg was all about family and Saturday night was family night which he wanted to make very memorable for the family. Greg was very dedicated to Chris, Melissa and their children and spared no expense to enrich their lives. He enjoyed many things in life, including Harley’s, cars, boating, but most of all his family. He thrived on connecting with people and had a beautiful gift of encouragement and wisdom. Greg also had compassion on the developmentally disabled and formed Good Stewart Living to help the disabled needing a family home. Their foster son Eddie has lived with them over 15 years and they’ve cared for many others over the years.

Greg is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Angela; stepson, Chris (Christina) Chapin; stepdaughter, Melissa (Joshua) Bartnicki; foster son, Eddie Talbot; grandchildren, Austin, Ava, Angelina, Elias and Joelle; brother, Jeff (Debbie) Stewart; sister, Becky (Ricky) Faw; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Greg is enjoying eternity with God, his loved one’s who went on before him and his beloved dogs Jackson and Bear.

Memorial service will be held at 3 P.M. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E.
