Geraldee "Sue" (Smith) Bennett

Sue Bennett, 71, of New Franklin passed away April 13, 2021.  She was born September 27, 1949 in Barberton to the late Vernon and Lorena Smith. 

Sue met the love of her life, Bernie, in 1964 and would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on May 3rd.  She was a loving wife and mother who had a heart of gold. She spent most of her life taking care of her family as well as her friends. Her contagious smile and laugh would fill a room instantly and her gentle nature would make you feel so welcomed in her home.  Sue’s memory will remain with those that knew and loved her.  She was a gift to us all and she will live forever through her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren

Sue’s last few weeks here on earth were met with unfortunate tragedies. After losing her home of 42 years to a fire in March her health declined rapidly.  May she Rest In Peace.

Besides her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Bennett; brothers, Stephen and Robert Smith and sister, Denise Brock.  She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Bernie; son, Damin; daughter, Regina (Daniel) Kaye; grandchildren, Kristen, Jacob, Mason, Caitlyn, Alec and Lily; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
