Gerald D. "Jerry" Kyser

Jerry Kyser, 76, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024. He was born in Ravenna to the late Roy and Roxie “Ruth” Kyser on June 21, 1947. After graduating from Springfield High School in 1965 he joined the Army, serving his country in Ethiopia then on to Vietnam based in Phu Bai.  A very proud Veteran!  After the service, he came home and worked with Rodeway and Spector Road Company before starting his own business.

Jerry was loved by everyone who knew him; a stranger instantly became a friend. He enjoyed participating in bowling leagues, white water rafting, and taking long drives with anyone willing to go with him.  Later in life, he spent more of his time with his family becoming closer to them and with the Lord.  Jerry’s legacy taught us to take life as it comes, help others, and be thankful to those who helped us.  His family and friends will miss his love and laughter but know they will see him again someday. 

Jerry is survived by his brothers, Dennis (Esther) and Richard (Debbie) Kyser; sisters, Cathy (Dale) Hutton and Peggy (Ken) Cradlebaugh; and many other family and friends.  

A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Brookdale Senior Living in Barberton for the love and care they showed to Jerry.
