Gerald R. "Gerry" Duncan

Gerald Duncan, 84, of Green passed away October 16, 2021, after a short illness.  He was born May 10,1937 in Akron, Ohio to the late Clarence and Helen (Reed) Duncan.  Gerry worked at General Tire for 25 years until it’s closing, then Acme Click Warehouse until his retirement.

Gerry loved the outdoors, mowing and working in his yard.  He was a member of the New Philadelphia Kennel Club, he loved raising and running his many Beagles.  But his very favorite pastime, was attending and showing his vintage cars at several car shows each year, with his brother-in-law Joe, where he took home many trophies and prizes. His most prized possession was his 57 Chevy.  

Besides his parents, Gerry was preceded in death by his wife of almost 54 years, Cheryl (Walker) Duncan; sisters, Donna (Robert) Stauffer and Virginia (Robert) Schrock.  He is survived by his son, David (Doris) Duncan; grandchildren, Daren (Jillian), Dayna and Debra (Kayla); great grandchildren, Gabriella, Zephaniah, Areli and Lillian; sister, Jo Ann (Joseph) Gleisinger; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial service will be held at 7 P.M. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Rev.
