Gary D. Fouts

Gary Fouts, 71, passed away October 4, 2021.  He was born November 22, 1949 in Akron to the late Edward and Marie Fouts.  Gary was a graduate of Green High School where he played football.  After high school Gary worked for UPS Parcel Service retiring in 2004.  After retirement Gary worked at Sunoco on Manchester Road at Center where he met and made many friends.  He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing.  Gary also enjoyed bowling, racing and classic cars.  He had a 1973 Plymouth Scamp that he loved to race at Norwalk but most of all he loved spending time with his family. 

Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Fouts.  He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sandra; daughters, Renee (Michael) Allen and Melissa (Ernest) Key; grandchildren, Jessica, Kaylee and Judson Allen, Steven and Katie Dillard; brother, Chuck (Joyce) Fouts; sisters-in-law, Susan Comfort and Rose Deck; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial service will be held at 7 P.M. on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319.  Family and friends may call on Thursday from 3 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made in Gary’s name to Akron Children’s Hospital Foundation, One Perkins Square, Akron, Ohio 44398.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
