Fredericka "Freddi" J. (Roan) Yocum

Freddi Yocum, 87, passed away on September 4, 2022.  She was born on November 6, 1934, in Akron to the late Paul and Hedwig Roan.  Freddi loved to roller skate and did so into her 80s.  She met the love of her life, James Yocum, while roller skating, they were together for 62 years until his passing in 2019. Freddi worked for Klais and Co. for over 20 years.  She loved to play bridge with friends and spend time with her family.  She was a member for over 40 years at Manchester United Methodist Church.

Along with her parents, Freddi was preceded in death by her husband, James; son, James; granddaughter, Stephanie Dobbs. She is survived by her son, David; daughters, Kathleen Jett, Kimberly Conrad Sapp, and Christine (Thomas) Perrine; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Ed (Valerie) Roan; as well as bonus daughter, Stephanie Faulds.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Michelle at Compassionate Care Hospice for the love and care she gave to mom. 

The funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Manchester United Methodist Church, 5625 Manchester Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Frank Woodrum officiating.  Family and friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E.
