Eunice P. (Watters) Newell

Eunice Newell, 96, passed away on July 13, 2022.  She was born in Duke North Carolina on November 9, 1925, to the late Paul and Stella Watters.  

 

Eunice was a truly remarkable woman who dedicated her life to her family and friends.  She was loved by everyone she ever met, and they were fortunate to have such a wonderful person in their life.  She will be greatly missed by each one of them.  

 

Besides her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Newell, second husband, H. Dean Smith, and sister, Jan Monan.  She is survived by her daughters, Marsha (Rex) Johnson and Laura (Kenneth) Robinson; grandchildren, Misty (Eric) VanDusen, Katie (Brian) Veselka, Veronica Johnson, Heather Cikity, Nicholas Haydu, and Lance Robinson; 7 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

Funeral service will be held at 3 P.M. on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Darryl Moulder officiating.  Family and friends may call on Sunday from 1 P.M until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Eunice’s name to the ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC  20090-6929.
