Dorothy (Reel) Kelley

Dorothy Kelley, 98, passed away June 13, 2021.  She was born May 23, 1923 in Cuyahoga Falls to the late Kenneth and Edna Reel.  Dorothy worked for many years as a secretary for Manchester Tools as well as Goodrich, Suburban Service and others. She was a member of ABWA (American Business Women’s Association) for many years, serving as its president and as Woman of the Year.

Dorothy was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church in Barberton where she was church secretary for a time and served as church council president. She was an ardent knitter and bird watcher.  She loved her azaleas, going to dinner with her family and the coffee shop with her grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed but the memories she created with her family will never be forgotten.

Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel Kelley; sisters, Juanita Roush and Mary Louise Harter.  She is survived by her children, Lucy Jane Gustavel,  David (Shirley) Kelley, Betsy “Kelley” Oldham, Melissa Bittner and Timothy Kelley; grandchildren, Troy Gustavel, Stephany Foley, Isaac Kelley, Rachel Gotto, Michael Bittner and Gretchen Bittner; 9 great grandchildren; as well as many other loving family and friends.                    

Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the First Lutheran Church, 249 2nd Street, Barberton, Ohio 44203.  Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 6:30 P.M. at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E.
