David J. Knittle

David J. Knittle, 75, passed away on September 1, 2022. He was born on May 30, 1947, to the late Clarence Knittle and the late Luella Sandlin.

David grew up in Copley where he attended Copley High school. He worked for Riser Foods as a truck driver and retired in 2015 with over 35 years of service. He was a member of Teamsters Local 407. He enjoyed spending time with his family at dirt bike races, Queen of Hearts drawings, casinos, and just hanging out together with a drink in hand and a barrel of laughs.  

David was a very generous man, always buying a round of drinks for old friends and people he just met. He loved to chat and had many stories to tell. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.         

Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy and Larry. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; daughter, Barbie (Jay) Whitt; son, Dave (Julie) Knittle; step-daughter Cheri Jenkins step-son, Dan Sees; grandchildren, Randy Edwards, Jake Knittle, and Victoria Conlin; sister, Rebecca Mohler (Bob Hostnik); and many other family and friends.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Gina Gavozzi of Summa Hospice. She was very caring and took amazing care of David.
