David Caplinger Obituary

David Caplinger, 56, went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2022. He was born in Akron on July 27, 1965, to Audrey (Kenneth) Gladieux and the late Donald Caplinger. David was employed for 32 years at Akro-Mills in Wadsworth. He enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, attending aviation shows, wrenching on engines, and watching football.

David was a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather. He was known for his loving heart and sense of humor and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

David is survived by his children, Jay (Laura) Caplinger and Linda (Scott) Taylor; grandchildren, Rylen Schermesser, Freya, and Jayci Caplinger; siblings, Shirley Wiandt, Cathy Moore, and Dolly (Rick) Lamb; step-siblings, Ron (Laura) Gladieux and Candi (Bill) LeMaster; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Per David’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David’s name to a local sober house.
