Cory Anthony Moore

Cory Moore, 30, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior far too soon on October 31, 2022.  He was born in Barberton on July 24, 1992.  Cory lived in Green his entire life and was a 2011 graduate of Green High School.  In 2023 he would have graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Entrepreneurship.  He was excited to walk across the stage.

Cory strongly believed in his family, faith, and community and was passionately active in each of them.  He was highly active in serving ReKent, the campus ministry of Christ Community Chapel at Kent State University, H20 Church Kent, and Chi Alpha Ministry, all communities of college students focusing on friendship and following Jesus.

Cory was a kind soul and generously gave his time to others, including the homeless.  He was loved by so many; more than we could ever count.  There is a star in the heavens for Cory’s kindness.  There will never be another man like him. 

Cory was preceded in death by his stepfather, Tony Kish.  He is survived by his mom, Kelly Kish; sister, Stephanie (Brett) Moore-Hermann; brother, Tyler Holderfield; grandparents, Paul and Margie Moore; uncle, Paul Moore, Jr.; great aunts, Pam and Donna Moore; girlfriend and love of his life, Kaitlyn Graham; as well as best friend, his precious dog, Lyla. 

Funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Rev. Wilson officiating.  Family and friends may call on Friday from 3 to 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made in Cory’s name to the Haven of Rest Ministries, P.O.
