Christine Armsey Obituary

Chris Armsey, 63, of Jackson Township, passed peacefully into eternal life on January 5, 2022 following a courageous battle with COVID-19. She was surrounded by her loving family, and she passed knowing how deeply she was loved.

Chris was born in Cleveland on October 13, 1958 to the late William and Martha Neumann. A 1977 graduate of Jackson High School, Chris earned her LPN from the Mercy Medical Center School of Nursing. She spent over 40 years working in a variety of healthcare settings, however found her niche early on in nursing home care. Retiring in 2020, Chris was able to focus on one of the greatest loves of her life, her grandchildren. She was a devoted Nana and enjoyed every moment that she could spend with “her babies”. Chris loved to garden and crochet. She spent countless weekends alongside her husband beautifying her yard and harvesting her gardens. In her spare time, Chris would crochet blankets for her family and loved ones. She had a tender heart for animals and enjoyed cooking wonderful meals for her family. She always said that raising her children was her greatest adventure and she loved them beyond measure. Her life was dedicated to service, and those who knew her will hold dear her memory.

Besides her parents, Chris was preceded in death by her son, Ryan Armsey; brother, Timothy Neumann and sister, Linda Neumann. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Jim Armsey; son, David Armsey; daughters, Julie Armsey, Heather (Dan) Russell and Courtney (Kelly) Vigars; sister, Sue Neumann, and grandchildren, Gabriel, Garrett and Ryan.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Martha Coleman, APRN, and all the nursing staff at Aultman Hospital for their kindness and taking such amazing care of their mother.
